Coca Cola has announced that it would dole out around Rs 100 Crores towards COVID-19 relief operations which may eventually impact over 10 lakh people across the country.
The aid provided by the soft-drink giant would primarily ensure the safety of healthcare workers as they would be provided with Personal Protective Equipment required for the treatment of COVID-19 patients.
Besides, the company would spend towards enhancing health infrastructure by arranging testing facilities as ‘more frequent tests’ remain one of the crying need of the hour for containment of the contagion.
Coca Cola has also joined hands with various NGOs and bottling partners to help vulnerable sections with food and other essentials during the nationwide lockdown.
First identified in December 2019, the COVID-19 has affected around 3.2 million people across 186 countries, causing more than 2,28,000 casualties so far.
