In the quarter that ended in March 2021, Reliance Industries Ltd invested Rs 1,140 crore on corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects such as Covid-19 assistance, rural development, education, health, sports, and disaster relief.
Reliance spent Rs 1,022 crore on CSR projects in 2019-20 according to the company’s latest annual report.
Over the previous year, Reliance has contributed to India’s fight against the epidemic by providing healthcare, medical-grade liquid oxygen, food, and masks.
It refurbished the Jamnagar plant to provide states with 1,000 tonnes of oxygen per day for free, covering the demands of roughly one lakh patients per day.
The company supported 2,300+ beds for COVID care and treatment across locations, including the establishment of India’s first COVID hospital in Mumbai.
81 lakh reusable masks were distributed to 50 lakh frontline warriors and essential service providers across 21 states and two union territories.
