The latest entrant to the COVID 19 warrior
group is the JSPL Foundation –the CSR arm of the Jindal Steel & Power Ltd –
with its community sensitization drive on social distancing, or free food
distribution drive across parts of Odisha such as Angul, Barbi, and Tensa
regions.
The volunteers from the foundation have
been actively offering cooked and dry foods to the vulnerable sections
especially the migrant workers or truck drivers who have lost work owing to the
nationwide lockdown operational since March 24.
Besides, products like hand sanitizer,
soaps, and masks are being donated by the volunteers of the foundation so that
the people could maintain personal health and hygiene required as a
precautionary step against the virus.
As per the reports, the JSPL foundation has so far distributed around 2,00,000 meals across three districts of Odisha under its flagship program ‘Mission Zero Hunger’.
