The 2050 MW solar park situated at Pavagada in Tumakuru district
of Karnataka, also identified as the world’s largest solar park, developed by
the Karnataka Solar Park Development Corporation was flagged off recently to
meet the renewable energy requirements.
Spread over five villages, the solar park has been helmed
jointly by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI)
and the Karnataka Renewable Energy (KREDL).
Besides accomplishing energy requirements, the park has been instrumental in empowering around 2300 local farmers by paying them over ₹21,000/acre/year.
