Vodafone Qatar has pledged its commitment towards the deaf community on International Day of
Sign Languages, observed worldwide on September 23 as part of the International Week of the Deaf.
According to a statement issued by the company, most flagship stores in Vodafone Qatar are staffed
by retail experts who can connect using sign language. In addition, the firm offers specialised
programmes and prices to impaired people under the “Vodafone for Everyone” initiative.
Vodafone Qatar stated that customers holding a valid special needs card from the Qatar Society for
Rehabilitation of Special Needs (QSRSN) are offered a 50 per cent discount on all Vodafone’s
Unlimited 5G post-paid plans and 10 per cent discount on selected handsets equipped with
accessibility features and applications.
In 2019, the QSRSN delivered sign language training to Vodafone Qatar’s retail advisers in which they
were taught the basic foundations of sign language in addition to customer service skills and
The advisers will also be receiving refresher training every year to enhance their knowledge of this
important communication tool for the deaf.

Qatar, we place great importance on all customers receiving great experience and that includes our
customers with disabilities.
“In keeping with this intent and the ‘Inclusion for All’ pillar of our corporate social responsibility
framework, Vodafone affirms its commitment to the deaf community, ensuring that they and all
vulnerable individuals have access to the services they need and are not left behind in the digital
society,” he added.
